I think I'm going to state the obvious and say this probably will be a Ziva episode.

My thoughts exactly.

Yeah, I believe this is the Ziva/Eli/Vance story we heard about.

I'll be waiting for the reviews before bothering with it. Z/E/V stories bore me to tears. For such a "horrible father" that she had to run to Gibbs, Eli sure spends a lot of time with his daughter despite having a critical job half a world away.

I'm with you hinky hippo. No matter how many chick fights, explosions, and tragic secrets they traumatize and victimize Ziva with, I can't muster enthusiasm for this year's version of the obligatory tragic Ziva episodes. I'd be much more interested if someone (preferably Tony) could get a double episode arc that had far reaching consequences instead of all the big significant most promoted dramas always centering on Ziva or Gibbs.

The last time they brought back Eli David (Enemies Foreign and Domestic)... well, I wasn't thrilled with those episodes. But I do hope that this one will be better. It's kinda weird to see an episode titled with the greeting I use every Friday.

Ahhh, here's an ep I'll be skipping completely. Wonder woman, brand new SFA, femme fatale ziva is completely nauseating & not something I want to ruin my Tuesday s on.

Ditto....not on my watch list. So far this season I've watched 3 of 5 episodes.

If you haven't watched this past week's episode, definitely do! If that's a throwaway, filler ep, I'll happily take a couple of dozen more! ;)

Re: Eps 10 and 11
(10 X 11 or 10.11 = Season 10, episode 11 =) )

Why are we discussing "Lost at Sea"?

Because *discussions* follow their own path. If you read through the entire conversation, you would see where it came from [encouragement to watch the episode] Since I view this series as a whole, being over and done with talking about one of the many episodes from this particular season especially seems pretty silly and short-sighted. Unless there are specific rules governing discussions here I am not aware of, it's only natural for them to occasionally wander a little. I guess it comes down to how each of us watches the show: some of us take a character's history as a whole, rather than one episode at a time. We _were_ discussing NCIS and not the best way to knit doilies, after all... ;)

What to you is a rant, might be interesting to someone else. Anyone not interested in what someone else has to say could politely ignore it unless it somehow affects them or they feel the need to contribute to the discussion at hand.

You're entitled to your rant, too. With all due respect, for all intents and purposes, it's typical for this fandom. The "why do you watch" comments should follow any time now. The answers are always the same. Now, to move on...

I question the whole "Eli left her to rot in the desert" angle. The Mossad had a heightened presence in the area and someone had to have reported seeing a single woman captive to Chad from Chad. Eli does seem to care for his daughter even if he is often too busy to show it. He has made efforts since Somalia to strengthen the father/daughter bond in more than one case. While I do think parents have a slightly greater responsibility to a relationship with their children, Eli seems to be making all of the effort in this case. As for "Daddy Gibbs", I think someone is being played - I'm just not sure which one it is.

Re: Eps 10 and 11
So we may be saying "hello or goodbye" to all that Shabbat stands for, or using the first three meanings- peace, completeness and welfare

While this is an interesting theory, I'm not sure that's what the writers intended Shabbat shalom to mean for this episode, as it generally means something else. It's a greeting Jews say to each other on Shabbat that means "May the peace of Shabbat be with you" or just "Have a pleasant Shabbat."

Shabbat Shalom has a much more religious connotation than previous episodes with Hebrew titles (e.g. Shalom and Aliyah) which makes me curious.

Re: Eps 10 and 11
However originally ALL the characters did not have daddy issues. Tim's are new as are ziva's.

Re: Eps 10 and 11
Actually, since I'm the one who seems to have gotten the conversation off track in your view, I thought I'd explain. See, I was complaining that this episode looked like it was going to turn me off from watching, for the same reasons other episodes were skipped. My comments, while not directly about the upcoming episode, tied them all together. I'm sorry if you didn't like what I had to say. And I'm not sure whether I'm supposed to truly be apologetic or snarky here. I really hate the bickering that goes on in some of these threads, but I didn't feel that hinky should be left hanging n support. In the end, disparate opinions aside, we are gathered here to discuss a show of which we are fans.

Happy post Election Day!

Re: Michael Nouri
A lot will depend on the charges and evidence against him. He's out on bail right now and innocent until proven otherwise. He'll be back in court Monday morning, so they may have to shoot around all of that.

They may not be ready with another script and yet CBS has shied from this sort of controversy before, so it'll be interesting to see what course they choose. The charges currently against him are not to be taken lightly. =/

How anyone can go through the day on this much negative energy is beyond me. They said the "Ziva reveal" would be after the holidays, so unless 11 takes us into January (and maybe it does)this might not be what you think and all the angst over the title of an episode could be for naught.
Nov. 2nd, 2012 09:30 pm (UTC)
10.11 does take us into January. While all indicators do point to this being the Vance rocked, Ziva reveal, whatever plotline, you're right, we don't know and can only speculate. For some fans, obviously, it's not a plotline they're looking forward to if past history is any indicator, just as a certain faction of the fandom was impressively negative even to the actresses themselves when EJ and Wendy were cast as love interests of some fashion for Tony. ;)

I have never seen so much over-reaction based off a two word title in my entire life. -___-

I am really looking forward to this episode!! Ziva is my favourite character in NCIS and the eps I love the most are about her.
I find her past ( her Mossad days, her mum, her sister Tali ) and her relationship with her dad to be very intriging.
